On December 13, 2019, Massimo Cavalletti will sing the role of Don Carlo in Ernani at the Teatro Verdi of Pisa, in a production by Pier Francesco Maestrini under the musical direction of Maestro Matteo Beltrami, sharing the stage with Migran Agadzhanian in the title role, Alexandra Rosa Zabala as Elvira and Simon Orfila as Don Ruy Gomez de Silva. There will be an additional performance on December 15, 2019.
This will be the first Teatro Verdi Pisa appearance for the Tuscan baritone, who made his role debut as Don Carlo in October 2019 in this same production at the Teatro Coccia in Novara.
After this Ernani, Massimo Cavalletti’s upcoming engagements include Conte di Luna in Il trovatore at the Teatro alla Scala Milan and at the Macerata Opera Festival, Marcello in La bohème at the Teatro Regio Turin and Teatro Verdi Salerno, and his role debut as De Siriex in Fedora at the Teatro alla Scala.
