On November 22, 2019, Massimo Cavalletti will sing the role of the Conte di Luna in Il trovatore, the inaugural production of the 2019/2020 season of the Teatro Carlo Felice Genoa, in a staging by Marina Bianchi and under the musical direction of Maestro Andrea Battistoni, the first of a series of three performances running through November 27, 2019. He will share the stage with Marco Berti in the title role, Vittoria Yeo as Leonora and Violeta Urmana as Azucena.
The Tuscan baritone, who early in career made his Teatro Carlo Felice debut as Fra Melitone in La forza del destino in 2007, first added the role of the Conte di Luna at the Teatro del Maggio Fiorentino in the fall of 2018, subsequently performing it at the Teatro Regio Torino and, just a few weeks ago, at the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi Salerno. In the near future he is already scheduled to interpret it at the Teatro alla Scala Milan and for his debut at the Arena Sferisterio for the Macerata Opera Festival.
Other engagements in Massimo Cavalletti’s 2019/2020 season include Carlo V in Ernani at the Teatro Verdi Pisa, Marcello in La bohème at the Teatro Regio Turin and Teatro Verdi Salerno, and his role debut as De Siriex in Fedora at the Teatro alla Scala.
