On October 20, 2019 Massimo Cavalletti will debut the role of Don Carlo in Ernani at the Teatro Coccia in Novara, in a production by Pier Francesco Maestrini under the musical direction of Matteo Beltrami, sharing the stage with Migran Agadzhanyan in the title role, Courtney Mills as Elvira and Simon Orfila as Don Ruy Gomez de Silva.
This is Massimo Cavalletti’s fourth debut in a Verdi part in a little more than one year: in the previous season he added to his repertoire the role of Conte di Luna in Il trovatore (Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Teatro Regio Turin), Giorgio Germont in La traviata (Palm Beach Opera) and Francesco Moor in I masnadieri (Teatro alla Scala and Savonlinna Festival).
After this Ernani, which will also be staged at the Teatro Verdi Pisa in December 2019, Massimo Cavalletti’s upcoming engagements include Conte di Luna in Il trovatore at the Teatro alla Scala Milan, Teatro Carlo Felice Genoa and Teatro Verdi Salerno, Marcello in La bohème at the Teatro Regio Turin and Teatro Verdi Salerno, and his role debut as De Siriex in Fedora at the Teatro alla Scala.
